American Heritage Girls Troop organizing in Bluffton

The American Heritage Girls program is coming to Bluffton.

AHG is a nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to the mission of building women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country. It is open to girls in Kindergarten through 12th grade.

Tanya Augsburger (Troop Coordinator) and Randa Kinn (Vice Coordinator) have been working through the process of getting an AHG troop going here. Every AHG Troop has a Chartering Organization, and Bluffton Baptist Church has agreed to fill that role for Bluffton’s AHG Troop OH2505.

Registration for girls for AHG is currently in process, with tentative deadline being Feb. 10.

The first meeting will be on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 4 p.m., and will be a combined Parent meeting/Troop meeting for those who are registered in order to run through information and complete any necessary paperwork as well as having a little fun.

Meetings after that date will be the second and fourth Thursdays of the month, through May. Summer activities are in the process of being planned, as well as starting the first full year in the fall.

Though the troop is chartered by Bluffton Baptist Church, the troop leadership positions may be filled by people from any church, as long as they agree to the AHG Statement of Faith and go through the registration process, including a background check, online Youth Safety training, and various leadership training.

For more information contact the troop leaders via Facebook, American Heritage Girls - Bluffton, or by email at [email protected], or  the AHG website at www.ahgonline.org/.
