Maple Crest soup cook-off rescheduled for March 6
Due to winter weather, the Maple Crest Senior Living Village soup cook-off orginally scheduled for Feb. 6, is rescheduled for Thursday, March 6, according to Daren Lee.
The cook-off will take place at 700 Maple Crest Ct., off Augsburger Road, Bluffton, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., oon March 6.
The cook-off is in the Patio Room in the lower level of the Maple Crest. Persons attending may sample gourmet soups prepared by several local restaurants and caterers, including:
• Luke's Bar & Grill (Bluffton) – White Bean & Ham
• Swan House Tea Room (Findlay) – Best Ever Minestrone
• Jeanne's Kitchen (Bluffton) – Butternut Squash
• Bluffton Hospital (Bluffton) – Curried Sweet Potato
• Bluffton University – Tomato Basil Parmesan Bisque
• The Dough Hook (Bluffton) – Chili
• Touches from the Heart (Ottawa) – White Corn Chowder
• Henry’s (Ottawa) – Cream of Broccoli
• Schnipke Inn (Ottawa) – Loaded Baked Potato
The meal includes soups, salad, breadsticks, beverage and dessert. The cost is $7 per person or $5 with a donation of a canned good or box of cold cereal. Children 5 and under can eat for $3.
All donated items go to the Bluffton Community Assistance Program’s food pantry. Please check expiration dates to make sure they are current. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Memory Garden and Pier Project at Maple Crest.
