Camerata Singers ‘Home’ concert March 16

Bluffton University’s Camerata Singers, back from a spring-break tour in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Ohio, will reprise the tour program, “Peace, Justice & Love,” in the annual Camerata Home Concert on Sunday, March 16. The concert, beginning at 2:30 p.m. in Yoder Recital Hall, is free and open to the public.

The select, 22-member choral group performed the program primarily at churches and schools while on tour from March 4-9. Its design connects with the university’s 2013-14 civic engagement theme of “Race and Ethnicity in America: Celebration, Struggle, Opportunity.” The musical texts are responses to how a Christian should strive to live in a diverse and biased world, hoping to create a more peaceful and just society.

Dr. Mark J. Suderman, a professor of music and director of choral activities at Bluffton, is the group’s conductor.
