Joe Goodman was an Air Force veteran who served in the Korean Conflict
Joe L. Goodman, 82, of Bluffton died at 7:55 a.m. March 22, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born Dec. 10, 1931, in Bluffton to the late Walter and Bessie Emans Goodman. On June 29, 1956, he married Lois L. Amstutz and she survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Lisa (Robert) Hetzer of Dayton, two sons, Joe (Julie) Goodman of Marysville, Jerry (Susan) Goodman of Fostoria, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a sister, Colleen Hight of Pandora, two brothers-in law, Chuck (Janice) and Butch (Iva) Amstutz.
Mr. Goodman was an Air Force veteran who served in Okinawa during the Korean Conflict and was an American Legion member. He retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber Co., Findlay, after 36 years of service. He was also a member of the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Bluffton, and served on the Consistory and Building and Grounds committee.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Bluffton. Chaplain William Herr will officiate. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Church of Christ.
