Three programs are on the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District calendar.
RIP SNORTIN’ WHOPPERS
On Saturday, May 24 at 7 p.m. , the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District will offer RIP SNORTIN’ WHOPPERS at the Ottawa Metro Park Amphitheater.
Come join us for the opening season of the 2014 Summer Amphitheater Programs. Listen to the Ohio Tall Tales that are sure to tickle your funny bone.
The Ottawa Metro Park is one mile east of I-75 on State Route 81(Ada Rd.), between Marimor School and Industries and the Bath Township House.
BUTTERFLIES OF ALLEN COUNTY
On Tuesday, June 3, at 6:30 p.m., the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District will offer Butterflies of Allen County at McElroy Environmental Education Center.
Adults are invited to learn about the folklore and biology of butterflies. We will review many of the different species found throughout Allen County and will provide information about the Park District’s butterfly monitoring program.
OTTAWA METRO PARK BEACH TO OPEN FOR SEASON
On Saturday, May 24, the Ottawa Metro Park Beach will open for the season. The hours are from noon to 7 p.m. weather permitting (air and water temperature must be 70º). The Beach will be open daily from Saturday, May 24 through Sunday, Aug. 10.
The cost for admission is age 2 and under free, age 3-12 $3, 13 and up $5. Season passes are also available.
