Rachel Yoakam was a Bluffton High School graduate
Rachel Mary Yoakam, 75, died Aug. 12, 2014, at 10:10 p.m. at St. Rita's Medical Center, LIma. She was born June 29, 1939, in Lima to Carl and Edith Hartman DeVier who preceded her in death. On June 7, 1958, she married Gerald "Jerry" Yoakam and he survives in Lakeview.
She graduated from Bluffton High School. She was a homemaker and member of First Mennonite Church, Bluffton.
Survivors also include three children, Kenneth (Cathy) Yoakam of Bluffton, Kathie (Michael) Amstutz of Bluffton, Kevin (Heather) Yoakam of Berea, 11 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two great grandsons, a sister, Raeann Cook and stepmother, Ruth DeVier.
A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at the St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora. Rev. Lynn Thompson will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association. Online condolences may be expressed at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
