With Mitch Kingsley stepping down from council on Sept. 1, the council has 30 days to appointment his replacement. If council fails to do so, the appointment is made by Mayor Judy Augsburger.
On Aug. 18 Dave Steiner asked for a council-meeting-of-the-whole. The meeting is set from 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 21, in council chambers on the third floor of the town hall.
Steiner said that the purpose of the meeting is to discuss how the council should proceed in selected a new council member.
The meeting is a discussion and no official action can be taken. Following that meeting, council will likely announce how it plans to proceed with selecting Kingsley’s replacement.
In July Kingsley announced that on Sept. 1 he would step down as a council member. He served on council from 2000 to this year.
The current council make-up follows: Sean Burrell, Everett Collier, Mitch Kingsley, Joe Sehlhorst, Dave Steiner and Roger Warren.
