Icon wants to know your favorite horror flick
By Torie Wright, Icon intern
My favorite time of year is now. Fall’s weather is perfect and we also celebrate my favorite holiday: Halloween. We’re about a month away from seeing costumed kiddos roaming the streets, but it’s just the right time for getting into spooky movies.
I challenge you this: starting now, watch one horror movie per week. On October 31, report back to us at the Icon with your list of movies watched and tell us which one was your absolute favorite!
If you can't wait until Oct. 31, send us your favorite list now to: [email protected].
To help get you started, I’ll give you my top five favorite horror flicks:
1. The Cabin in the Woods (2012) – Two years post-release, this movie still continues to stand as my all-time favorite horror film. A group of friends takes a trip into the woods, where they get a little more excitement than they had planned on. This movie sticks out to me the most due to its non-cliché ending.
2. Sinister (2012) – This movie had me shrieking out loud by the end. It just got creepier and creepier…
3. Night of the Living Dead (1968) – An oldie but a goodie. Though it’s a little cheesy, it’s hard to pass up on a classic.
4. Insidious (2010) – I found the plot of this film absolutely intriguing, and even though the final scene left me hanging, I still haven’t seen the sequel! (Side note: this was the first movie to ever make me scream aloud in a theater!)
5. The Conjuring (2013) – Want to play a game of hide and clap?
