Chamber invites sponsorships for June 27 fireworks
Fireworks will light up Bluffton’s nighttime sky as a pre-Fourth of July weekend celebration again this summer.
Bluffton fireworks, hosted by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce, takes place the evening of Saturday, June 27, in the outdoor athletic field area of Bluffton University at the corner of Bentley and Augsburger roads.
The chamber currently seek donations from area businesses, industries, organizations and individuals to help support the fireworks.
The cost of the fireworks is $9,000. The chamber established a fireworks fund last year and has a small carryover as a starter-fund for 2015. Donations for this year’s show will be accepted until June 1.

The Mennonite Memorial Home’s annual ice cream social on the lawn will take place in the early evening of June 27 – as an added feature to the evening. That event takes place at MMH, 410 W. Elm St.
A chamber planning committee includes Brendon Matthews, Larry Hoffman, Jon Kinn, Rick Skilliter, Jamie Mehaffie, Tammy Whitlow and Fred Steiner.
