Dorothy Gay 1934-2015
Dorothy Lou Gay, 81, died July 30, 2015 at Lima Memorial Hospital. Dorothy was born July 14, 1934, in Michigan to Allery and Vera (Verbicht) Rice who preceded her in death.
On Nov. 10, 1956 she married James Gay who preceded her in death on June 13, 2013.
Dorothy had been a homemaker.
Survivors include a son James (Lorraine) Gay of Beaverdam; three daughters Vera (Anthony) Vernell of Delaware, Ohio, Jennifer (David) Deeds of Lima, Nancy (Steve) Schramm of Beaverdam; 18 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Dorothy was preceded in death by three brothers Gene Rice, Francis John Rice, James Rice; a sister, Alice Alexander and one great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held Monday Aug. 3, at 6 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor Sam Wireman officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be held at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County Hospice.
