Pauline Bauman was a 1942 Bluffton College graduate
Pauline A. Bauman, 96, of Bluffton died at 12:54 a.m. Sept. 3, 2015, at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. Polly was born Sept. 30, 1918 in Lima to Abraham and Ella Zurfluh Sprunger. On May 28, 1944, she married Harvey Bauman and he survives.
Polly was a music teacher and taught at Pandora. She was also the elementary school librarian at Bluffton in the late 60's. She was a 1936 graduate of Lima South High School, attended Miami University and graduated from Bluffton College in 1942. Polly was an active member of First Mennonite Church, Bluffton, the Mennonite Memorial Home Women's Service Group and the Century Circle Club.
Survivors also include two sons, Blaine (Sue Hardwick) Bauman of Bluffton, Keith (Judy) Bauman of Toledo, a daughter, Janet (Maurice) Tissandier of Canmore, Alberta, Canada, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, E. Burdette Sprunger.
A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at First Mennonite Church, Bluffton. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.
The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Bluffton University, First Mennonite Church or Bridge Hospice. Online condolences may be expressed at www.chilesfh.com
