Meet Charlize Suzanne Boblitt

Charlize Suzanne Boblitt was born Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, at Bluffton Hospitall to Todd and Becky Boblitt of Bluffton. She weighed 7 pounds 11 oz. and was 21 inches long at birth. She has two older brothers, Terron (3) and Trey (5). Grandparents are Sam and Janette Reineke (Bluffton) and Craig and Janet Boblitt (Springfield), Great Grandma Pearlene Boblitt (Springfield) and Great Grandpa Denver Noggle (Lebanon).

A quick-fix supper

Here is my favorite, quick-fix supper:

1 pack whole wheat wraps
1 pack shredded broccoli slaw
1/3 c. dry roasted peanuts
2 boneless skinless chicken breast 1/2's
1T olive oil
1/3 c. hot sauce

Cut into strips and stir fry the chicken breasts in the oil in large skillet 5 minutes. Add broccoli slaw and stir fry 5 more minutes. Add peanuts and hot sauce and stir fry 3 more minutes. Warm wraps in paper towel in microwave 30 seconds, divide meat mixture into wraps and roll up. Serve immediately. Serves 4.

Alex Anderson - BHS student of the month

Alex Anderson

Alex Anderson, Bluffton High School senior, is the September BHS student of the month.

She is a member of the Math Club, band, flag corp, jazz band and is a cheerleader. Her post-secondary involvement includes calculus I, II, psychology and integrated arts at Bluffton University. She plans to attend Bluffton University upon graduation from BHS and hopes to persue pre-medicine.

She is the daughter of Shellie and Tony Anderson, 316 Cherry St., Bluffton.

Doris Dukes 1919-2009

Doris Dukes

Doris D. Dukes, 90, of Pandora died at 2:30 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009 at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. She was born April 8, 1919 in Wellington, Ohio, to George and Celia Ruth (Jackson) Devereaux. On Dec. 24, 1944 she married Robert G. Dukes and he died May 30, 1974.

Doris taught high school in Bloomfield High School, Bloomfield, Ohio. She had also worked at Cooper Tire, Findlay, during World War II. After taking time off to raise her family she returned to teaching at Cory-Rawson Middle School retiring in 1984.
