February is a short month but lots of events are planned at the Bluffton Public Library.

Here's the schedule:
 • Visit Bluffton Public Library for Coloring Therapy events on Feb. 1 at 6 p.m.,  Feb. 12 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and Feb. 17 at 3:30 p.m. For this informal program, BPL will offer coloring pages, coloring utensils, and a quiet space.

• Winter Storytime continues Mondays, Feb. 1, 8, and 22 at 6:30 p.m., or Tuesdays, Feb. 2, 9, 16, and 23 at 10 a.m. Registration is required and spots may be full.

• Hot Tea Tuesdays continue every Tuesday in February. Free hot tea and other light refreshments will be available for browsing patrons from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• Dulcimers @ the Library resumes in February on Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m., and Jammin’ @ the Library continues on Feb. 8 and 22, both at 6 p.m. Come to any meeting to join or listen.

• Chill Zone continues every Tuesday in February at 3:30 p.m. This is a time for teens and tweens (6th grade and up) to snack, talk, play games, watch movies, and make crafts.

• BPL will host an author visit with Carrie Snyder, author of Girl Runner on Feb. 3 at noon. Snyder will share her story as a writer, read from her book, and participate in a brief question-and-answer session. Limited copies of Girl Runner are available for purchase at Bluffton University’s bookstore (cost is $26.99) and patrons may bring purchased books to BPL’s author visit for signing.

• YogaFit by BFR continues every Wednesday on the library’s lower level at 6:30pm.  To register and pay the membership fee, contact Bluffton Family Recreation.   

• Celebrate International Harry Potter Book Night: A Night of Spells on Feb. 4 at 5 p.m. This event is meant to share the wonder of J. K. Rowling’s unforgettable stories amongst communities, and, most excitingly, introduce the next generation of readers to the unparalleled magic of Harry Potter. All participants will be treated to an evening of games, activities, readings, and quizzes.

• The library’s Sci-Fi/Fantasy Writer’s Group continues Feb. 4 at 6 p.m. If you are working on writing in this genre, or are seriously interested in doing so, you are invited to join this group!  Registration is required and space is limited.  Email [email protected] for more information.

• The final session of Tot Bop for this season is Feb. 5 at 10 a.m. Infants, toddlers and adults are treated to a 30 minute session of movement and music. Space is limited and registration may be full, but to put your child on a waiting list, call 419-358-5016 during open hours. 

• Paws 2 Read continues Feb. 6 and 20,  at 10 a.m. Teddy loves hearing stories or just getting a friendly cuddle. This program supports literacy, the humane treatment of animals, and healthy stress relief practices.

• Teen Volunteers (TV) meet at on Feb. 18 at 4 p.m. BPL is currently looking for new TV members between the ages of 13 and 18. This group helps with planning youth programs all year round, including the Summer Program. Teens wishing to volunteer in BPL’s 2016 Summer Program are encouraged to attend the upcoming meeting.

• The Gluten Free & Food Allergy Support Group will continue to utilize the library as its meeting place on Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. 

• Raising small children?  Come to the library’s Family Connections Coffee Morning on Feb. 25 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. During this event, you will find out what programs and services are offered in the Bluffton area and meet with representatives of area family/child development organizations. Get your questions answered and warm up with a cup of coffee or tea.  

• Register for an Assemblage Art Workshop with Janette Reineke. Participants will gather on Feb. 29 at 6 p.m. to learn about assemblage art as inspired by artist Louise Nevelson, and each participant will make their own artwork out of wooden pieces.  Registration is required by Friday, Feb. 19, and a $10 supply fee will be due upon registration (cash only), and is nonrefundable after Feb 19.
