BRWP sponsors rain barrel decorating contest
The Blanchard River Watershed Partnership is sponsoring a Rain Barrel Decorating Contest at the Greater Findlay Home Show Saturday, March 5, and Sunday, March 6, at the Findlay Village Mall.
Thirty-three Rain Barrels have been entered in this year’s contest. All Rain Barrels will be on display at the Home Show on March 5-6. Plan to stop at the Findlay Mall and vote for your favorite Rain Barrel.
The three categories this year are:
1). Agricultural Theme,
2). Watershed Theme and
3). General Theme.
All judging will occur on Saturday with the winners announced on March 6 at 1 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the top five in each category and the People’s Choice Award.
Anyone may sponsor a barrel by calling Phil Martin at 419-422-6487. All unsponsored barrels will be for sale by silent auction during the Home Show.
The BRWP represents the six counties of the Blanchard River Watershed and is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving water quality through developing citizen involvement and watershed action plans. Volunteers are welcome to join activities at any time. Learn more about the Blanchard River on the BRWP website at www.BlanchardRiver.org.
