Ada Icon - Bluffton's sister publication - named 2016 Ada business of the year
The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce named the Ada Icon as its 2016 Outstanding Business/Industry of the Year at the chamber’s Feb. 17, annual dinner meeting. Ada Icon is the sister publication of Bluffton Icon.
Deb Curlis, chamber president presented the award to Icon owners Fred and Mary Steiner, during the dinner at McIntosh Center on the ONU campus.
The Icon also received a certificate of commendation from the Ohio Secretary of State’s office area representative, Brian Bauman.
The Ada Icon is a news website with a primary focus on the Ada and Ohio Northern University communities. Ninety percent of its viewers live within 25 miles of Ada.
The Ada Icon launched four years ago with zero advertisers and zero viewers. Last year the Ada Icon had 100,000 views from persons in 50 states, 127 countries and 447 Ohio cities and villages.
The Ada Icon today has nearly 60 advertisers, of which 30 are from Ada. The Icon experiences approximately 5,000 views in a 30-day period.
Ada Icon contributors were introduced at the dinner. They include Monty Siekerman, Darlene Bowers, Ken Collins, Ryan Lowry and Gayle Lowry.
The Ada Icon is a member of the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce, Buy Ada First and Ada CIC. It participants in several Ada community and Ohio Northern University activities.

2013 - Everhart Trucking
