Soup cook-off: Ham and potato corn chowder voted "the best"
Seven area restaurants and businesses put their best soups on the table and 160 votes (by diners) later the winners were:
• First place - Luke’s Bar and Grill, ham and potato corn chowder
• Second place - Jeanne’s Kitchen, Michael’s cream of asparagus
• Third place - Larson’s Barbecue fire-roasted tomato
The event was Maple Crest of Bluffton’s annual soup cook-off, held Feb. 25. Also offering soup were LuLu’s Diner, Common Grounds, Henry’s (Ottawa) and Cedar Valley Café (Findlay).
Persons attending receive a meal discount when a donated canned good for the Bluffton Community Assistance Program. In all,105 canned and boxed food items were collected to assist the food pantry.
