June 4 Run/walk for Literacy benefits the library

This is a continuing series about the many Bluffton events planned in June.

The third annual 5K run/walk for Literacy, hosted by the Friends of the Bluffton Public Library is at 9 a.m., Saturday, June 4.

Here are some of the details:

Proceeds from this event: Used to support the library's programs, especially the youth programming.
Course: Start and finish at Bluffton HS. Maps available at the library and on the library website.
Chip timed: Race will be professionally chip timed by Ohio Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Findlay
Registration fee: $18 pre-registered (t-shirt included), or $20 after May 21 (no t-shirt). Rain or shine, no refunds. TO REGISTER ON LINE CLICK HERE.
Race day registration/packet pickup: Begins at 8 a.m. at the library, lower level.
Run divisions: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and older
Awards: Trophies to overall top male and female. Medallions to top male and female in each age division.

Volunteers needed

“We're in need of volunteers to help that morning,” Pat Sheidler of the Friends told The Icon. "Volunteers are needed to pass out items to runners and to be a stations around the course."
