Here's everything you need to know about swimming at the Bluffton pool
Let’s go swimming.
The Bluffton Community Swimming Pool is open for the summer. Here’s all the information you need, according to Jennie Wilson, pool manager.
Heater and shade update:
The new heater and shade area should be installed in the next two weeks.

Assisting Wilson are assistant managers Jess Brockert, Kyla Dawson and Delaney Reineke.
Pool hours:
Noon to 8 p.m., Mondays through Fridays
1 to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays
Admission:
Daily (3 and over) - $4
2 and under – free
Family season pass - $130
Additional children on pass - $5 per child
Single season pass - $80
Senior single pass - $40
Senior couple pass - $75
10 visit punch card - $30
Can be used for single or multiple admissions at one time
Rest breaks are every hour for 15 minutes. No one under 18 is permitted to swim during rest breaks.
Group swim lessons begin soon. Here is that schedule:
Session 1 – June 20-July 1
Session 2 – July 5-July 15
Session 3 – July 18-July 29
Lessons take place from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays. Fridays are makeup days. Contact the pool for registration.
Swim lesson levels:
Parent tot: Ages up to 3.
Level 1 – 3 year olds recommended
Level 2 – Some experience with the water and willing to submerge entire head in water
Level 3 – Be able to comfortably place face and head in water. Can perform front and back float for 3 seconds.
Level 4 – Be able to float unsupported for at least 5 seconds on front and back and swim 5 meters of freestyle and backstroke without assistance
Level 5 – Can swim 156 meters of restyle using rotary breathing, swim 15 meters of backstroke and tread water for 30 seconds.
Adult – Ranges from no experience to athletic practice. Private lessons are available upon request.
Eariler this spring, lifeguards were hired. On June 6 the Bluffton council approved the hiring of these addtional life guards:
• April Dorman, Andrew Lovett, Sidnie Koontz, Chase Koontz, Sumner Kibele, Olivia Schumacher, Kennedy Hutton, Kyra Goddard, David Braun and Gavin DeVier.
