Interested in visiting the Holmes County Amish area?
The Bluffton Senior Citizens Association has a trip with Bob and Bev planned in September. Registration is now underway.
On Friday, Sept. 16, Bob and Bev Painter will take the Association bus to Holmes County. Departure from Bluffton is at 7:30 a.m.
Stops include The Farm at Walnut Creek via horse and wagon. Participants will visit a couple typical Amish homes. Next is an Amish dinner theatre. It includes an Amish buffet and a comedy titled “Somewhere over the silo." Cost is $86 per person.
Several additional senior association programs take place in September. Here’s a summary:
Monday, Sept. 12, is the monthly potluck. Dwight Lutz turns 90 and will receive his life membership at the potluck, which begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are $8.50 each and must be purchased in advance. Elaine Wehri will entertain on the accordion. Connie Kempf and the St. John’s United Church of Christ will cater the dinner.
Bowling begins on Thursday, Sept. 8, at 9:30 a.m. at Southgate Lanes. A free self-defense class for seniors takes place at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 21. Nancy Proctor from Blanchard Valley Health Systems leads the class.
Deb Beer’s sewing workshop is at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14. This month’s project is a surprise.
