Maxine McCafferty visitation on Wednesday
Maxine Y. McCafferty, 86, died Jan. 9, 2017, at 4:30 a.m. at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. Maxine was born Aug. 19, 1930, in Bluffton to the late Louis and Gladys (Schick) Criblez. She married Max McCafferty who preceded her in death on June 6, 1989.
Maxine was a homemaker and had been a janitor at Triplett Corporation, Bluffton. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Bluffton.
Survivors include four sons, Bob C. (Pat) McCafferty of Bluffton, Max (Marcia) McCafferty, Jr. of Bluffton, Phil McCafferty of Lima, David (Kelly) McCafferty of Beaverdam; two daughters, Eileen (John) Garber of Bellville, Ohio, Mary (Ron) Courtney of Bluffton; 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; two brothers, Harry Criblez of Ada, Arley (Dawn) Criblez of Ottawa; and two sisters, Janet (Bill) Gossard of Harrod, and Lois Layne of Bluffton.
Maxine was preceded in death by two daughters, Nancy Schramm, Kaye McCafferty; and two brothers, Brice and Marion Criblez.
Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery near Bluffton following the service. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2.- 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Hospice.
