Rohde named HCAC Player of the Week

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Senior guard Austin Rohde (Shelby) has been named the Heartland Conference Player of the Week after leading Bluffton to a 2-1 mark in HCAC action. It marks the second time in the past five weeks that Rohde has been accorded this honor.
Rohde poured in 26.7 PPG as the Beavers stayed in contention for a berth in the Heartland Conference tournament with home wins over Franklin and Transylvania. He hit 23-of-50 from the field, including 7-of-15 (46.7 percent) on triples. Rohde knocked down 27-of-32 (84.4 percent) at the stripe, including 16 straight in Bluffton's 100-96 overtime upset of Transy on Saturday. He averaged 4.0 RPG and also came up with five steals for the week.
The dynamic slasher is 2nd in the Heartland Conference at 19.8 PPG and he is 6th in the HCAC with an 85.5 free throw percentage. Rohde leads the Beavers with 32 triples and 32 steals (4th in the HCAC).
Bluffton will travel to rival Defiance on Wednesday at 8 p.m., before making a trip to Anderson on Saturday for a 4 p.m. start.
