February 6, 2017
BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University's KAYCEE ROWE (Harrod/Allen East) averaged 23 points and six rebounds per game as the Beavers went 2-0 with home wins over Manchester and Transylvania last week. Rowe is the second Bluffton women's basketball player to be recognized this year following Rachel Beining who took home the same honor three weeks ago.
The standout junior netted 23.0 PPG on a blistering 20-of-32 (62.5 percent) from the field. She pulled down 6.0 RPG, doled out 3.5 assists per game and picked up 2.0 steals per game. Rowe was 11-of-17 for a career-high 28 points in Saturday's 77-62 win over Transylvania which helped the Beavers to their first-ever regular season sweep of the Pioneers. Rowe needed just 19 minutes to deposit a game-high 18 points on 9-of-15 from the field in the 55-34 win over Manchester.
Rowe leads the Heartland Conference with an 87.8 FT percentage (72-of-82) and she is 5th in the HCAC at 13.8 PPG. The versatile wing is 3rd in the conference with 3.4 APG and 2.3 SPG.
The Beavers play travel to rival Defiance College on Wednesday, Feb. 8, for a 6 p.m. tip-off, before making a trip to Anderson on Saturday at 2 p.m.
