University nutrition students host 10 Lunch and Learns this winter-spring

Bluffton University’s junior nutrition students will host the 2017 Lunch and Learn series from Feb. 22 to April 26 on the first floor of Berky Hall. The demonstrations are free and open to the public; however, limited space is available for each lunch.
 
Each session includes a 20-30 minute cooking demonstration, nutritional information and a full meal.

Lunches will be held from noon-1 p.m. The 2017 series is sponsored by The Food Store, a whole foods market in downtown Bluffton.
 
Dates and topics include:
 • Wednesday, Feb. 22 - The nutritional power of purple foods
 • Wednesday March 1- Answering the question: are eggs good for me?
 • Wednesday, March 15 - Introducing jackfruit into everyday cooking
 • Friday, March 17 - Macro bowls: adding variety and nutrition to your diet
 • Wednesday, March 22  - Learning to eat low-sodium meals
 • Friday, March 24 – Giving comfort foods a nutritional makeover
 • Wednesday, April 5 –  Calcium 101: requirements and health benefits
 • Wednesday, April 12 – Learning the health benefits of avocado
 • Wednesday, April 19  –  What are the health benefits of Vitamin C?
 • Wednesday, April 26 -Can family meals have the best of both worlds: low cost and healthy?
