Bluffton baseball plans sixth annual Vs. Cancer head-shaving event
The Bluffton University baseball team will once again brave the razor during the 2017 Vs. Cancer fundraiser in which several members of the team, along with supporters, shave their heads.
The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28, in the Commons at Marbeck Center. This is the sixth year the baseball team has raised money for the charity, and it is the team’s largest community service project.
The team’s goal is to raise $10,000 for the Vs. Cancer foundation. Half of the money will go to childhood cancer research. The other half will go to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus. If this year’s goal is met, the team will have raised more than $50,000 since the start of the program.
Stylists from the Curling Iron in Bluffton will once again donate their time, talent and razor blades.
The Vs. Cancer Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to saving kids’ lives by empowering athletes and communities to fund life-saving childhood cancer efforts.
