Reese named HCAC Field Athlete of the Week
March 27, 2017
BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University’s D'Nae Reese (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week following her performance at the Cedarville Yellow Jacket Invite on Saturday, March 25.
Reese opened her outdoor season in fine style after a bye week following her NCAA appearance earlier in the month. She nicely covered the 49 woman field in the discus, winning with a throw of 133’ 8” (40.74 meters) after having earlier placed 6th among 54 in the hammer competition with a distance of 139’ 02” (42.42 meters). Both marks put Reese well-placed for competition in the upcoming All-Ohio and HCAC championship meets in April.
It marks the fourth HCAC Field Athlete of the Week honor in the last two years for Reese, including her third in the past two months!
The Beavers will be back in action on Saturday, March 31, when Bluffton travels to Otterbein for the April Fools Invitational.
