Summer Program Kicking Off at Bluffton Public Library on June 5

Every summer, Bluffton Public Library’s goal is to encourage people of all ages to learn and grow throughout every stage of their lives. Continuing with this tradition, this summer’s theme is “Build a Better World.”

To kick off this two-month program, Library Fun Day is on June 5th! When you register for the summer program, stop to decorate the sidewalks with your own “Build a Better World” chalk creations and participate in games and activities going on throughout the library. Then, at noon, bring a sack lunch for an Indoor Library Picnic, and stay to “Touch a Truck” featuring Bluffton’s Fire Department, Police Department and EMS from 12:30-1:30 p.m.

After that, The Toledo Zoo and Aquarium will join the festivities with a program on the library’s lower level called “Animal Adaptations,” and to conclude Library Fun Day, Summer Storytime will have its first session, “All Around Town.” Please notice: Storytime is for preschool children ages 3-5 on either Monday nights or Tuesday mornings (you choose which time you want to attend). You must register your child starting May 30, and there are only 18 spots available for each session.

And that is only the first day of the program! The library will continue to offer its numerous regular programs and services, but the facility’s monthly calendar has grown considerably, with the addition of over 40 summer events. These events foster the theme to Build a Better World and are open to people of the surrounding community of any age or background.

When you register and participate in BPL’s Summer Program, you also enter yourself into the running for a variety of grand prizes and weekly incentives. Stay tuned for more information about BPL’s Summer Program, and don’t forget to mark your calendars for June 5th!
