Aug. 10 Bluffton garage sale benefits Deb's Dogs
A one-day garage sale on Thursday, Aug. 10, takes place in Bluffton to benefit Deb’s Dogs of Lima according to Connie Anderson, who will hold the sale.
Deb’s Dogs is a rescue operation run by Deb Helser. It’s a non-profit army of animal rescuers in the Lima area.
Anderson said, “This is my third benefit sale. The first was a sale of all of my aunt’s airplane memorabilia, resulting in nearly $1,000 for Angels for Animals.
“Last year’s sale was for the Humane Society in Lima after they took in 50-some dogs from a bad situation in Bluffton,” she said, adding that $400 bought a lot of food and/medical care for them.
Deb’s Dogs does not have a physical facility, but the group has many volunteers who foster the rescues at their homes until the owners are located or the animals can be adopted.
Medical assistance is provided as needed. And there is always a need for food, blankets, crates, leashes, said Anderson.
She said that the garage sale takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 10, at 176 Albert St.
It includes clothing and accessories at $3 per item (tops, pants, sweaters, shoes, scarves, bags). She added: “Most other items will be $2 but I might add a few treasures that will require a little higher price.”
