Frederick Nordhaus was a former Bluffton High School band director
Frederick J. Nordhaus, 74, of Ottawa died at 9:35 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017, at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. He was born March 1, 1943, in Ottawa to the late Arthur A. and Louise L. (Conn) Nordhaus. His longtime girlfriend, Patricia Goodkin survives in Ottawa.
He is also survived by two children, Kevin Nordhaus of St. Marys and Kimberly (Aaron) White of Lake Mills, Wisc.; four grandchildren, Aiden, Shiloh, and Nora White, and Cody Nordhaus; one great-grandchild, Khloe Nordhaus; four brothers, Robert (Marcie) Nordhaus of Lake Geneva, Wisc., Donald (Sandy) Nordhaus and Ronald (Deborah) Nordhaus both of Ottawa, and Timothy (Gail) Nordhaus of Roanoke, Va.; and a sister, Laura King of Cleveland. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Kim Nordhaus, and a brother-in-law, Michael King.
Fred retired from Ottawa-Glandorf Schools where he was the band director and formerly directed the Ottawa Community Band. He was a member of Country Acres Golf course where he worked in his retirement. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Rick Friebel officiating.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa where there will be a Scripture Service at 7:50 p.m. Memorials may be made to the James Cancer Center and Solove Research Institute 460 W. W. 10th Ave Columbus, OH 43210.
