Historic Hancock County barn tour Sept. 16
The Hancock County Historical Museum's fall historical barn tour is Saturday, Sept. 16.
The self-guided tour showcases six century-old barns in southern Hancock County around the communities of Jenera and Arlington.
Barns on the tour are:
• Houdeshell-Rettig-Bateson barn, 1860s

• Martz-Pifer-Bateson barn, 1870s
10615 County Road 31, Arlington
• Glick-Pepple barn 1850s-1860s
19582 Township Road 65, Jenera
• Luneack-Bower-vonStein barn, 1870s-1880s
8194 Township Road 32, Jenera
• Neff-Russell barn, 1860s
8433 County Road 31, Jenera
• Gossman-Bower-vonStein barn, 1850s-1860s
20057 State Route 698, Jenera
This family friendly event includes activities at each stop celebrating our heritage, including a quilt show, antique machinery demonstrations, timber-framing demonstrations, local food vendors, and live music with the Dulcimer Gatherin’ and the country band, East of Cheyenne.
New vendors and activities this year include the Dixie Girl Food Truck, hewing and framing demonstrations with JCM Timberworks, and much more.
Persons on the tour will learn about the history of these unique structures while enjoying the sights, tastes, and sounds of our county’s legacy.
Pre-sale tickets are available for $10 at the Museum and sponsor locations in Hancock County including Citizens National Bank, Bluffton.

Tickets will also be available at any of the barns on the day of the tour for $10 for members, $15 nonmembers. Children 16 and under are free.
