Bluffton Fire Department's newest equipment is a gift
Bluffton Fire Department acquired a new piece of equipment and it arrived as a gift.
SRK-Ohio, formerly DTR Industries, donated its industrial fire truck to the village earlier this month.
In making the donation at Monday's council meeting, Don Camper, vice president of human resources of SRK-Ohio, said that the village and SRK-Ohio have had a long and important relationship.
"The village has been a staunch supporter of SRK-Ohio's business and a great neighbor," he said.
With that relationship in mind, SRK gave its fire truck to the Bluffton Fire Department. Although a still functioning piece of equipment, it probably has more value in parades, community events and as a historical piece, he added.
"It will be good to see our fire truck in a good home," he added.
