Human trafficking "Signs to Look For" program on October 10

The League of Women Voters of the Lima Area will hold an informational meeting on human trafficking “Signs to Look For” on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at Shawnee United Methodist Church, 2600 Zurmehly Road.

The guest speaker will be Brittany Reyes from Crime Victim Services. This meeting is open to the public.

Pirate boys soccer beats Lancers, clinch 9th straight NWC crown

The Bluffton High School boys soccer team beat Lincolnview 3-1 in a Northwest Conference championship showdown match Monday night, October 2, at Steinmetz Field.

Bluffton improved to 4-0 in league play and won the title with their 42nd straight conference triumph without a loss. The Pirates are 5-7-2 overall after the win.

Pirate volleyball sweeps Patriots

The Bluffton High School volleyball team swept Patrick Henry in a non-conference road match Monday evening, October 2.

The Pirates won 25-18, 25-23, 25-16 to improve to 14-4 overall and snap a two-match losing skid.

Bluffton High School Class of 1963 celebrates 60th reunion

The Bluffton High School class of 1963 celebrated their 60th class reunion at First Mennonite Church in Bluffton on Friday evening, September 15, followed by a brunch on the following morning.

In person attendance:

2nd Row: Brenda Moser, Sharlene Lanning Antritt, Betty Thomas Basinger, Linda Steinman Inbody, Nancy Luginbuhl Frick

Back Row: Bob Blank, Al Traucht, Brice Balmer, Lynn Basinger, Jerry Weaver, Bob Badertscher, Rodger Benroth, Rich Bucher, Ken Lugibihl, Marvin Augsburger, Norman Reichenbach  

Joining the group via Zoom were Diana Hilty Marshall, Coletta Lora Wiebe, Connie Habegger Briggs and Midori Oyamada Shimada.

Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities holds 25th Annual Chicken Barbecue

LIMA__The Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities is holding its 25th Annual Chicken Barbecue on Thursday, October 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Allen County Board of DD offices located at 2500 Ada Road, Lima, OH. 

The menu includes 1/2 Romer's barbecue chicken, baked potato, green beans, roll and cookie. Tickets are $12.00 and can be purchased by calling 419-221-1385 ext. 1247 or 1033.
