Reports of breaking and entering, illegal narotics, criminal damage complaints

June 1
Officers responded to the 9000 block of North Dixie Highway for a breaking and entering complaint.
Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Riley Street and North Main Street. Investigating officers requested canine assistance which resulted in a positive alert from the canine and allowed officers to search the vehicle. Upon searching the vehicle, illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia was located inside the vehicle resulting in a Bluffton juvenile being charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The case is pending in Allen County Juvenile Court.
June 2
Officers responded to Bluffton University for a vandalism complaint.
June 7
Officers arrested Ted R. Alexander, 38, Mt. Blanchard, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the area of County Line Road and County Road 33 for a stop sign violation. Investigating officer also requested canine assistance which resulted in a positive alert from the canine. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in a small amount of illegal narcotics being located inside the vehicle. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
June 8
Officers arrested Justin Lammers, 19, Bluffton, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the 400 block of North Main Street for a moving violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
June 9
Officers responded to the 400 block of Cherry Street in reference to a criminal damaging complaint.
Officers responded to the 100 block of Riley Street in reference to a criminal trespass complaint.
Officers arrested Malachi J. Hamlin, 19, Lima, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the area of Benley Road and Interstate 75. Investigating officer requested canine assistance which resulted in a positive alert from the canine. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in a small amount of illegal narcotics being located inside the vehicle. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
June 11
Officers responded to the 200 block of Cherry Street for an animal complaint.
Officers arrested Jorie M. Odem, 31, Alger, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the 700 block of County Line Road for an equipment violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
June 13
Officers arrested Zachary A. Martin, 30, Rawson, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the 600 block of South Main Street for a littering violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
June 14
A Washington Street resident reported fraudulent activity on his debit card.
June 16
Officers arrested Thomas C. Brown, 70, Bluffton, for OVI following a traffic stop on Interstate 75 at mile marker 140. Mr. Brown was also given a misdemeanor citation for having an open container in a moving vehicle. The cases are pending in Lima Municipal Court.
Officers responded to the area of 800 County Line Road in reference to a car / deer noninjury traffic crash.
June 17
Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Interstate 75 at mile marker 140. Investigating officers requested canine assistance which resulted in a positive alert from the canine. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in a small amount of illegal narcotics being located inside the vehicle.
Officers responded to the 200 block of Cherry Street for a harassment complaint.
Officers assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Allen County Sheriff’s Office in locating a mentally ill person near Beaverdam.
June 18
Officers arrested Kileigh M. Paxton, 26, Lima for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the area of South Main Street and Garau Street for an equipment violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
Officers arrested Kurtis R. Badertscher, 53, Bluffton, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the 200 block of County Line Road. The case is pending in Findlay Municipal Court.
Officers responded to the intersection of Elm Street and Main Street in reference to a non-injury traffic crash.
June 19
Officers arrested Karen S. Anderson, 38, Hamilton, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on Bentley Road near Sunset Drive for a speeding violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
Officers responded to a noninjury traffic crash in the 100 block of Cherry Street.
June 21
Officers responded to a non-injury traffic crash in the area of Riley Street and Lawn Avenue.
June 23
Officers responded to a non-injury traffic crash in the area of South Main Street and Garau Street.
June 26
A Kibler Street resident reported a theft.
Officers responded to the 100 block of South Main Street in reference to a male subject who was passed out on a bench. The male subject was subsequently charged with intoxication and transported to the Allen County Justice Center. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
June 28
A North Lawn Avenue resident reported that sometime during the overnight hours, an unknown subject(s) entered his unlocked garage and stole tools from inside.
A South Mound Street resident reported that sometime during the overnight hours, an unknown subject(s) entered his unlocked barn and stole chainsaws from inside.
June 29
A Cherry Street resident reported that an unknown subject(s) entered their garage and stole a bicycle from inside. The bicycle has since been recovered and police are actively investigating the theft.
Officers responded to the 100 block of South Jackson Street in reference to a civil child custody complaint.
