Voter forum, OVAL classes on October's calendar

Bluffton Senior Citizen Center, 132 N. Main St., has a full calendar of events for October, according to Tonya Meyer, director.

AARP hosts a voter issue forum from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17. The program includes a non-partisan discussion of issues on the mid-term election. It is open to the public.

Five Our Version of Adult Learning (OVAL) classes are set in October.

• Thursday, Oct. 11, 10 a.m. – Debbie Mayers, genealogy and family history researcher presents Copus Hill: A Tragedy in Ohio History. The talk centers on Ohio history from the War of 1812.  Registration requested, $3 for members, $4 for non-members.

• Monday, Oct. 11, 10 a.m. – Elaine Wehri, local auctioneer and realtor, presents a program on auctioneering.

• Wednesday, Oct. 24, 10 a.m. – Daniel Hodges, naturalist from Johnny Appleseed Metro Park District, gives a presentation on reptiles.

• Thursday, Oct. 25, 10 a.m. – Duane Bollenbacher presents Math and Logic, Fun and Games.

• Monday, Oct. 29, 10 a.m. – Lynn Miller talks about his book “The Power of Enough: Finding Contentment."

The October dinner meeting is at 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 8. The program is by Dakota Clay. The dinner is catered by Mt. Cory United Methodist Church.

ONU HealthWise Pharmacy will hold a flu shot clinic from 9 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10.

October’s historical lecture’s topic is “Drive Track Auto Industry.” The talk is at 3 p.m., Monday, Oct. 8.
