About Blanchard River Watershed Partnership
BRWP formed in 2002 as a collaborative effort to deal with local issues, such as flooding, land use, agriculture and water quality. The partnership has representatives and agencies from Hancock, Putnam, Allen and Hardin counties.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the term watershed refers to the land which channels water to streams and rivers, which eventually flows to larger bodies of water, such as reservoirs, lakes, and oceans.
BRWP has working relationships with the US EPA, Ohio EPA, USGS, Soil and Water Conservation districts, as well as the City of Findlay, the village of Bluffton, village of Ottawa, and County Commissioners, among others.
