Your invitation to a Maple Grove Cemetery history walk
Four Maple Grove Cemetery history walks take place in October as Bluffton Public Library fundraisers.
The walks are at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 19 and 20, sponsored by the Bluffton Icon. These free non-scary walks accept donations going to the Bluffton Public Library.
Each walk is limited to 12 persons and each walk covers the same material.
Those interested in attending must RSVP the library at 419-358-5016 or [email protected], indicating their preferred day and time slot. In case of inclement weather, the history walks will move to the following weekend.
“Cemetery visits always bring up questions about names on headstones,” said Steiner. “Participants in these history walks will learn about some of the people who made Bluffton such an interesting community.”
The history walks will focus on men and women including families, veterans, pioneers, early Bluffton business owners, plus comments of interest on many others buried there.
“Many communities hold cemetery history walks,” said Steiner, who added this is an opportunity to learn about people who helped form the community where we live.
