Evelyn R. “Myrtle” Krofft was active in several Ada organizations

FROM ADA ICON - Evelyn R. “Myrtle” Krofft, 95, died on Thursday, May 28, 2020, at 1:35 p.m. at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

She was born on Jan. 23, 1925, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Walter and Ethel (Howe) Wolff.  On May 31, 1947, Evelyn married Robert M. Krofft and he preceded her in death.

Evelyn was the produce manager for the Ada Harris IGA for nine years. She was a homemaker. She attended the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Dola. She was a 1943 graduate of Southwest High School in Detroit, Michigan. 

Evelyn was a member of the American Legion Post #185 Ladies Auxiliary and the Ada Senior Citizens. Evelyn formerly bowled in the Ada Bowling League and was an avid Bingo player.  She volunteered for the Ada Welcome Wagon. 

Surviving are a son, Ronald David Krofft of Woodinville, Wash.; three daughters: Sandra Lynne (Charles) Colegrove of Williamsburg, Va., Carolyn Sue (Edward) Jones of Findlay and Beverly Kay (Martin) Schwab of Pandora; nine grandchildren: Chad (Nichole) Oman, Christina Wolber, Whitney (Shannon) Royster, Channan (David) Garmatter, Athena (Anthony) Segelhorst, Cassydee (Adam) West, Erin (Josh) Burton, Reuben (Erin) Krofft and Jacob Wolber; and 16 great grandchildren: Wyatt and Elysa Oman, McKenna, Camden and Brielle Royster, Riley, Allison and Wilson Garmatter, Sophia and Lucus Segelhorst, Rowan, Ryan, Beckett and London (Holland) West, Robert (Bobby) Burton and Julian Krofft.  

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Marie Krofft; two grandsons: Aaron David Krofft and Alexander David West; two sisters: Ruth O’Brien and Bernice Sunderland; and two brothers: Walter Wolff and Charles Wolff.

Private family services are being held with Rev. Steven Ramsey officiating.  Burial will be in Candler Cemetery, Ada. A celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held at a later date. The funeral service for Evelyn will be live streamed on the Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services Facebook Page beginning at 11 a.m, on Friday, June 5.
