Monty Ewing was retired from General Dynamics
Monty Eugene Ewing, 76, died on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2020, at 7:22 p.m. at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born on March 6, 1944, in Kenton, Ohio, to the late Dwight E. and Hattie M. (Dotson) Ewing. He graduated from Alger High School in 1962. On June 15, 1968, Monty married Joyce K. Rolston and she survives in Alger.
Monty retired as a Maintenance Carpenter. He worked for over 30 years at General Dynamics and previously worked for Orders Construction. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War. Monty was a member of the Ada VFW Post #9381.
Also surviving are his children: Jeff (Carla) Ewing of Bluffton, Brett (Tina) Ewing of Hilliard and Julia (significant other, P.R. Crippen) Ewing of Lima; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and a sister, Tanna Ries of Alger.
He was preceded in death by brother, D. Allan Ewing.
Attendance will be restricted at the funeral and visitation based on space to accommodate social distancing requirements. Face coverings must be worn while attending visitation and service.
