Women’s school golf record set at HCAC Preview
The Bluffton University women's golf team kicked off the HCAC Preview with a school-record 346 on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, at Legends Golf Club. It also marked the first time in Bluffton women's history that all four scorers shot in the 80s.
Haley Gill (Indianapolis, IN/Franklin Central) led the close-knit Beavers with an 85 on day one. Seniors Keely Briggs (Franklin) and Marissa Hall (Avon Lake) were just off the pace with rounds of 86 and 87, respectively. Freshman Allie Waggener (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Bradley) finished up the four-person stair-step with an 88 as Bluffton's 346 broke the previous record of 348 set in the spring.
Bluffton trails just three HCAC schools heading into Sunday's final round and the Beavers are only five strokes behind HCAC heavyweight Transylvania and Hanover.
The Beavers will play next on Sunday, Sept. 12, when they tee it up in Franklin at 11:10 a.m.
