University women heat up during final nine at the Beaver Fall Classic
The Bluffton University women's golf team turned it on over their final nine holes on Sunday, moving back up into 3rd place at the Beaver Fall Classic. The Beavers shot a 355 (tied for 4th best all-time), giving Bluffton a 713 for the tournament which is tied for 2nd all-time for 36 holes.
Haley Gill (Indianapolis, IN/Franklin Central) got it done down the stretch, firing a school-record 80 on Sunday, which added up to a 4th place finish individually. Gill's 169 for the weekend also equaled her own record for 36 holes!
Freshman Allie Waggener (Hilliard/Hilliard Bradley) and Marissa Hall (Avon Lake) were 11th and 14th, respectively, as they shot 179 and 181 at the Bluffton Golf Club. Freshman Kiley Cline (Fostoria/Hopewell Loudon) rounded out the scorers for the Bluffton "A" squad with a 185. Senior Keely Briggs (Franklin) shot 99-95 at her final Beaver Fall Classic. Freshman Isabelle Vance (Continental/Miller City) led the "B" squad with a 190 at her first Beaver Classic.
Bluffton will head to Allegheny College on Sunday, Sept. 26, for the Allegheny College Invite at Meadville Country Club. The two-day tournament is slated for Sunday and Monday.
