L. Joan Deafendeffin graduated from Lima South School
L. Joan Deafendeffin, 90, of Bluffton went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 26, 2021 at ProMedica Charles & Virginia Hickman Hospital in Adrian, Michigan. Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who was born on September 24, 1931 in Lima, Ohio to the late Elmer C. and Lorraine (Sauer) Michael. She married Harold Dee Deafendeffin on August 6, 1950 and he passed away on December 28, 2006.
Joan graduated from Lima South School in 1949 and was a homemaker. Throughout her life she enjoyed dancing with her husband and family, roller skating, sewing and cooking. Her family was her passion and she loved attending their horse shows, watching her grandchildren barrel race, play sports and was always there to lend a helping hand. Joan attended The Bridge Church in Lima.
Survivors include her daughters, Terry (Chuck) Jones of Venice, Florida, Nancy (Shawn) Stratton of Bluffton, and Sondra (Lou) Tramelli of Tipton, Michigan; six grandchildren, Cody (Heather) Jones, Kiel Jones, Shane (Sarah) Stratton, Kolton Stratton, Brianna Tramelli and Jaden Tramelli; two great-grandsons, Jacob and Caleb Jones and a brother, Charles Michael of Trussville, Alabama.
Joan was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Bernard and a brother, Donald Michael.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at The Bridge Church, 2760 E. Bluelick Church, Lima, Pastor Randy Davis officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthews Cemetery near Cridersville. Visitation will be October 1 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services-Bluffton.
