Bluffton HS golf team qualifies for districts; Lovett 2nd
The Bluffton High School golf team finished a strong third out of 13 teams in the Div. III golf sectionals at Sycamore Springs Golf Course Thursday, September 30, to qualify for districts.
Allen East won the sectional crown with a team score of 337. Van Buren was second (341) and Bluffton third (346).
The top three teams and three individuals not on a qualifying team made it to the Div. III district event at Stone Ridge October 7.
Zach Miller of Allen East won tournament medalist honors with an 18-hole total of 73. Bluffton senior Kenny Lovett was second in the 55-player field, seven strokes behind Miller at 42-38=80.
Pirate seniors Micah Minnig 45-42=87 and Wes Brauen 45-44=89 finished ninth and 11th, respectively.
Junior Jacob Bosivert carded a 44-46=90 total to come in 13th. Junior Jaden Coonfare finished tied for 22nd with a score of 55-45=100.
