Nov. 5 Public Lecture on "Management and the Meaning of Life"
Dr. Jonathan Andreas, professor of economics at Bluffton University, will present the Colloquium, “Management and the Meaning of Life,” at 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5 in Centennial Hall’s Stutzman Lecture Hall.
During the presentation, Andreas will discuss how striving for monetary rewards alone is not fulfilling. “Economists and management leaders have put too much emphasis on monetary incentives and simple pleasures for motivating people and seeking wellbeing,” explained Andreas. “This modernist tradition has neglected the deep human desire for the transcendence of spirituality and/or meaning in life, which is arguably the most important part of life.”
This event is free and open to the public. Masks are required indoors on campus.
