Pandora resident Steve Davis honored for soil and water conservation work
In February 2022, The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) showed its appreciation for exceptional leadership and commitment to conservation by honoring Steve Davis of the Natural Resource Conservation Service.
A Pandora resident and USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service employee, Davis was presented with
- H2Ohio Lifetime Conservation Advocate Award
- A Lifetime of Excellence Award, on behalf of the USDA Natural
Resources Conservation Service and the Ohio Federation of Soil and Water Conservation Districts
The awards celebrated a 50-year career in soil and water conservation.
Davis retired from full-time work in 2009, but returned to work on Lake Erie algal problems. He has spent the last 13 years working on Lake Erie Watershed water quality issues and algal bloom issues, and representing NRCS on Lake Erie and Great Lakes teams and task forces.
