Bernard W. Baumgartner worked for Ford Motor Company

Bernard W. Baumgartner, 92, passed away peacefully in Dayton, Ohio on May 12, 2022. He was born on July 15, 1929 in Bluffton, Ohio to the late Reno and Viola (Geiger) Baumgartner. On February 14, 1949 he married Betty J. Busick who preceded him in death.
Betty and Bernie resided together in Pandora for 63 years, since 1957. Bernie lived in Dayton the last 18 months of his life. They attended the Pandora Missionary Church. Bernie worked at Rusco and retired from Ford Motor Company in 1993. After retirement, Bernie and Betty became snowbirds and lived in Florida during the Ohio winters. In their younger years, they camped, rode bikes and played shuffleboard.
Bernie leaves behind a son, Bob (Debra) Baumgartner; six grandchildren, Ryan Baumgartner, Kory (Lisa) Baumgartner, Aaron (Jenny) Baumgartner, Tiffany (Nate) Conn, Dustin (Emmilly) Baumgartner, Austin Baumgartner; twenty-two great-grandchildren; a brother, Mick (Kay) Baumgartner; a sister, Diane (Ron) Snay and a sister-in-law, Dorothy (Richard) Cherry.
Bernie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Baumgartner; a daughter, Sandra Baumgartner and three brothers, David Keith Baumgartner, Richard Cherry, and Ronnie Baumgartner.
Graveside services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 20, 2022 at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Pandora with Pastor Mick Baumgartner officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
