BHS volleyball loses to Crestview in 3 sets

The visiting Bluffton varsity volleyball team lost in straight sets to Crestview Thursday night in a Northwest Conference battle between two of the league leaders.

The 25-10, 25-15, 25-13 loss dropped the Bluffton record to 9-3 and 2-1 in the NWC. Crestview improved to 7-5 and 4-0 in NWC play with the victory.

  • Kendall Stackhouse topped the Pirates with seven kills and two blocks. 
  • Ayla Grandey contributed six kills and one ace.
  • Gracie Yarnell dished out 11 assists and came up with eight digs. 
  • Olivia Hobensack passed out four assists and dealt one ace.
  • Avery Talavinia mustered 11 digs.

Crestview also won the JV match in three sets.

Bluffton plays in the tough Minster Invitational Saturday, Sept. 24. The Pirates then host Leipsic (11-3, 3-1 NWC) Tuesday, Sept. 27.
