BHS golf team 11th in Sept. 29 sectionals

The all-senior Bluffton High School golf team finished 11th in the 14-team Div. II northwest sectional at Moose Landing Golf Club Thursday, September 29, to conclude their season.
Napoleon won the sectional championship over Van Buren (338 strokes each with tiebreaker), followed by Liberty-Benton in third (348).
Bluffton shot 397 to finish ahead of Spencerville, Paulding and Kenton in the tightly-bunched field.
Carson Foltz of VB shot an 18-hole score of 35-37=72 to win the individual crown.
Pirate senior Jaden Coonfare tied for 18th in the 70-player field to pace Bluffton with a 45-45=90 scorecard.
Senior Jacob Boisvert tied for 37th as he posted a 47-49=96 score.
Senior Logan Combs contributed a round of 49-55=104 to finish 55th.
Classmate Eli Wenger rounded out the Pirate scorers with a 54-53=107 tally to come in at 58th.
Classmate Aidan Sponsler tied for 64th as he registered a 53-57=110.
The top three teams and top four individuals from non-qualifying teams advance to the district tourney next week.
