BHS swim team in top five at Lions Invitational
The Bluffton High School swim team competed in the Lions Invitational hosted by Wapakoneta High School at the Wapakoneta YMCA on Saturday, January 14.
The girls team finished in second with 192 points behind Ottawa Glandorf with 256.50 points. The Lima Shawnee team finished in third place with 188.50 points.
The boys team tied for fourth with Ottawa Glandorf with 143 points. The Wapakoneta boys won with 263 points, with Lima Shawnee in second with 205 and Saint Marys Memorial in third with 152.
Combined, the Bluffton Pirates finished in fourth with 335 points. Wapakoneta finished in first with 431 points, second went to Ottawa Glandorf with 399.50 points and finishing in third overall was Lima Shawnee with 393.50 points.
Bluffton competed against 16 teams: Botkins, Celina, Fort Loramie, Kalida, Kenton, Lima Bath, Lima Central Catholic, Lima Senior, Lima Shawnee, McComb, Miller City, Ottawa Glandorf, Pandora-Gilboa, Saint Marys Memorial, Van Wert and Wapakoneta.

Bluffton B Relay finished 10th place with 6 points: Lilly Dagani, Makenna Mohr, Zoe Shank and Ella Armstrong

Lily Dagani finished ninth with 4 points
Boys 100 backstroke:
Riley Verb finished first with 16 points
Girls 100 breaststroke:
Allison Diller finished seventh with 7 points
Makenna Mohr finished 11th with 2 points
Girls 400 free relay:
Bluffton A finished fourth with 22 points: June Essinger, Rory Youngpeter, Zoe Shank, Ella Armstrong
Boys 400 free relay:
Bluffton A finished sixth with 18 points: Xavier Diller, Charles Wright, Jacob Lehman, CJ McCall
The team will compete Tuesday, January 17 at the Kenton YMCA against the Kenton Wildcats.
