Women's golf opens spring season in Tennessee
JOELTON, Tenn.--The Bluffton University women's golf team capped off its 2023 spring opener in Tennessee at the Music City Shootout on Sunday, Feb. 26. The Beavers finished 5th overall, but they were 2nd out of the five HCAC squads participation over the weekend.
An 88 for Allie Waggener (Hilliard/Hilliard Bradley) gave her a team-best 174 for the weekend. Fellow sophomore Kiley Cline (Fostoria/Hopewell Louden) led the Beavers with an 87, giving her a 181 as they finished 15th and 24th, respectively.
Senior Haley Gill (Indianapolis, IN/Franklin Central) went 91 and 94 for a 185 and 25th place finish. Shelby Stammen (Fort Recovery) followed with a 98 and Sara Kroeger (Cincinnati/Mount Notre Dame) rounded out the scoring with a 110 on Sunday.
Bluffton is less than a week from heading to North Carolina for a week of practice over spring break. The women next hit the links for competition at the Alice Lloyd College Invite on Saturday, March 25.
