Pirate boys soccer shut out by Shawnee

The Bluffton High School boys soccer team lost to visiting power Shawnee 3-0 Saturday night, October 7, at Steinmetz Field in a non-league match.

Bluffton dropped to 5-9-2 overall after the loss,  

The Indian record improved to 8-1-3 after the win.  

Shawnee scored early and led 2-0 at halftime. Jake Dietering tallied in the seventh minute, followed by a goal from Alex McGuire in the 35th minute.

Indian Noah Scheid netted the lone goal in the second half in the 63rd minute.

Bluffton got off six shots, three of which were on target. The Indians peppered the goal with 11 of their 24 shots.

Pirate keeper Ethan Nickel made seven saves, while Indian keeper Drew Neidemire saved two shots.

The Pirates host Kalida (6-5-3) Thursday, October 12 in a non-league bout.
