Helen W. Griffith worked for the Bluffton News
Helen W. Griffith, age 97, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton, Ohio. Helen was born on November 21, 1926, to Joseph and Elanor Washak who preceded her in death.
Helen is survived by her son John Petkovsek, former daughter-in-law Jacque McNeal, grandchildren Derek Warren (Rhonda), Jeremy Warren (Krystal), Kristina Griffith, Bradley Griffith, and great-grandchildren. Helen is preceded in death by her husband Herb Griffith, brother Vincent Peters, sons Vincent Warren, John Griffith, and Dwight Griffith, and granddaughter Courtney Warren.
Helen lived a fulfilling life as a public relations specialist, wife, mother, daughter, and volunteer. She spent her early years in public relations working for the Cleveland Press, and even had the pleasure of filling this role when the Cleveland Indians won the World Series. She then spent time in public relations for C&O Railroad. Helen then married Herbert (Herb) and began work at the Bluffton News. In retirement, she spent her time volunteering at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Bluffton, Ohio, and Pandora Medical Clinic in Pandora, Ohio.
Visitation for Helen will take place from 10 a.m. until noon on Thursday, December 7 at Hartman Sons Funeral Home in Columbus Grove, Ohio. Funeral services will begin at noon, with Pastor Tom Brown presiding. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Pandora, Ohio.
